Apologies

I’m sorry this blog doesn’t follow the blog rules. I will one day move into “grownup” blogging but for now, it’s just life, my life, my journey. Sometimes I do review movies, products, and other things…. mostly it’s just me!

Anyhow I just wanted to give an update of sorts:

Laptop is back in the shop and is due to arrive home Friday. Waiting for a date to take my phlebotomy exam to be board certified. Got my shots for nursing school today, 3 vaccines, a TB test injection, and a blood draw. So I hurt in a major way. Belle is still cute as can be, Kurt and I are doing well, long distance and all…

So if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to sleep away the side effects of my morning.

Beware the Cuteness from the Internet

Petfinder.com people, it’s addicting and tugs at my heart strings.

@tomboy_femme has told me hundreds of times to block the site from myself… but I keep going back!

That dog folks?

I’d give him to @sjalt in a heartbeat because my love needs that happy face in his life! The ears! The smile! I was smitten the moment I clicked. Funny thing was in the same breath as “OHMYGOSHHOWCUUUUUTE” there was “Kurt would love him!”  I showed Kurt who also loved the smile and the ears. Sadly he doesn’t live in a doggie friendly apartment and being a college student… This cutie pie has to stay at the rescue for someone else to adopt.

Did you see how fast that happened? The love? The heart strings being pulled? Then the cruel slap of reality?

Yeah, that’s why I’m not supposed to get on Petfinder….

But I don’t.

Picasa vs Flickr

I take, a LOT of photos.

I mean, a LOT.

Here’s the deal, I have ways to backup my photos off of my computer and I use Facebook to primarily share with my “IRL” friends. I also have WordPress, Twitter, and Tumblr. The trouble is I don’t want to add all my “tweeps” to my Facebook and I really don’t want to have to share my FB with my whole friggin family. I know there’s all kinds of photo sharing sites out there and I’ve given them all a whirl but I need to just suck it up and make some decisions because I’m out of space on Flickr and Picasa and need to pay for more space.

Here are the things I need:

1) I’m working on a photo project to scan and share all of my Grandpa’s photos. He had THOUSANDS of photos and I want a nice way to organize them and share them online with my family that’s all over the US.

2) I want to be able to upload (preferably from my Droid- it’s the only camera I have currently) and share with ANYONE (I don’t want them to have to log in etc etc) photos and organize them into folders.

I have been using Picasa more because I have gmail and the Droid, I also enjoy the fact that I can use the photo editing software stuff to do my scans for the photo project and then upload them in batches and they go directly into albums. I know @reedseverson, @anaria, and @cameronmcefee have all said Flickr. Are there any Picasa fans? I know @sjalt and my family use Gmail and Google products but I also know they won’t (probably) comment.

Tumbling?

I joined the fad happening among some of my friends and got a tumblr account. I’m “strawbrykiwi” (as always) and honestly, it’s frustrating I don’t have a good camera because it’d be more fun! However, I do like that I can set a queue of things to get published which is cool- other than I’m not sure how to make tumblr and wordpress be friends.
